Telehealth is a great way to take care of your mental health from the comfort of your own home and around your schedule. NeuStart Psychiatry & TMS offers telehealth mental health services all across the state of Oregon.
With telehealth, you can attend appointments without the need for transportation, parking, time off work, or childcare arrangements, offering a hassle-free and accessible option.
While telehealth for depression or other mental disorders is an excellent choice for many, it may not be a perfect fit for every individual or condition. In-person visits are necessary for Psychological Assessments and TMS procedures. Some specific medications or treatment plans may warrant in-person visits. Your well-being is our priority, and we're here to ensure you receive the most suitable and effective care tailored to your unique needs.
Is Telehealth Medication Management Safe?
Telehealth is a safe alternative to in-person visits. In most cases, they are just as effective as in-person sessions.
Check the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Medication Guides for the latest warnings, patient, medication guides, and newly approved medications.
For more information regarding controlled substances and telehealth, please visit the U.S Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Telehealth.HHS.gov.
Will My Insurance Cover Telehealth?
Many insurance carriers cover telehealth with the same benefits as in-person appointments. If you have questions about what your specific insurance plan will cover, please call the number on the back of your insurance card. Our intake team will also verify your insurance benefits.
Are Telehealth Services For Mental Health Private?
At NeuStart Psychiatry & TMS, we use a HIPAA-compliant system that ensures encryption and follows all legal requirements. Just like in-person care, your telehealth psychiatry appointments, messages, and information are protected by privacy rules.
When participating in a telehealth appointment, you should be in a private, safe, location where you feel safe to openly discuss your mental health.
Suggestions for private locations included a private room in your home, your parked car, a private room in a friend's home, or outdoors, away from other people.
Do I Need a Computer?
While computers with a camera and microphone are ideal, you can easily complete your appointment on your smartphone. You will need access to the internet via regular internet service or a data plan. Before your appointment, you will be emailed your private telehealth link. Please use that at the time of your appointment to connect with your provider.
